ニケキュレーターズセレクションとは、女子美ガレリアニケ学芸員が注目している、本学卒業生の若手アーティストを個展形式で紹介する展覧会です。今年度は、本学立体アート学科出身であり、紙や繊維を用いて作品を制作する半澤友美による展示を行います。
本展示では、彼女の近年の関心である「場所と記憶の相互作用」と「人の在り方の更新過程」について、記録や行為の痕跡を通じて層のように可視化した既存作品を再構築・拡張し、展示します。3つのセクションに分かれた展示空間の中に、同一の行為や要素、モチーフを繰り返し配置し、日常生活の記録から制作されたドローイングを併置することで、さまざまな形状の「痕跡」が散りばめられ重なり合う展示空間をつくりだします。展示室の奥へと進むうち、それらの「痕跡」は鑑賞者自身の経験や記憶とも重なっていき、個の成り立ちや、他者・環境との関係について捉え直し、思考を広げるきっかけとなる体験へとつながります。

​ここ数年、日常の行為の記録、植物の痕跡、誰かが書き残した言葉。それらを紙や繊維という素材を通して累積させ、目に見えない関係を物質のかたちとして立ち上げることを試みてきました。今回の個展では、タイトル「それは昨日だったのかもしれないね」に含まれる不確かさをそのまま許容しながら、展示を構成します。特定の誰かの痕跡を起点にしながら、固定されることなく変化し続ける個の在り方について考えたいと思います。

The Nike Curator’s Selection is an exhibition series presented in a solo exhibition format to introduce promising young artists who graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design, selected by the curators of Joshibi Galleria Nike. This year, the gallery presents an exhibition by Tomomi Hanzawa, a graduate of the Department of Three-Dimensional Art, who creates works using paper and fiber as her primary mediums.

In this exhibition, Hanzawa reconstructs and expands upon her previous works, which layered and visualized her recent thematic focuses: “the interaction between place and memory” and “the ongoing process of updating how a person exists” through records and traces of actions. Within the exhibition space divided into three sections, she repeatedly arranges identical actions, elements, and motifs, while juxtaposing them with drawings created from records of daily life. This setup constructs an environment where various forms of "traces" are scattered and layered. As viewers move deeper into the gallery, these "traces" begin to overlap with their own experiences and memories, inviting them to reconsider the formation of the self and its fluid relationship with others and the environment, ultimately leading to an experience that broadens their contemplation.

For the past few years, I have explored how records of daily actions, traces of plants, and words left behind by someone can accumulate through materials such as paper and fiber, giving material form to invisible relationships.

For this solo exhibition, I compose the space while allowing the uncertainty contained in the title, It might have been yesterday, to remain. Starting from the traces left by someone, I reflect on the ways an individual exists—never fixed, but continuously shifting and transforming.
