2024年、タイ・チェンマイでのアーティスト・イン・レジデンスに参加しました。滞在は数日間の高熱で寝込むことから始まり、本作はその後、回復し組み直されていく身体の記録です。与えられた部屋の目の前には、たくさんのハーブが育つ庭が広がっていました。5日間の高熱を経て回復に向かうなか、弱った身体で庭を歩き、本能的に惹かれた植物を採取し続けました。視覚、触覚、嗅覚を通じて、チェンマイの自然が分解された身体のなかに組み込まれていくような体験でした。その過程を、採取した植物をタイ楮の繊維とともに織り込みながら、一枚の長い紙として定着させています。

In 2024, I participated in an artist residency in Chiang Mai, Thailand. My stay began with several days of high fever, and this work is a record of a body gradually recovering and being reassembled. In front of my room lay a garden filled with many kinds of herbs. As I slowly recovered after five days of fever, I walked through the garden with my weakened body, continuing to collect the plants I was instinctively drawn to. Through sight, touch, and smell, it felt as if the nature of Chiang Mai was being absorbed into and woven into my body as it was rebuilt. This process is preserved as a single long sheet of paper, with the collected plants woven together with Thai kozo fibers.
